Lodge Guest, Marie Dabbadie

On the way to Portland

What is your name ? Marie Dabbadie

Where are you from ? Hossegor, France

How old are you ? 24

Sponsors ? Unity Skateboarding

Board, Trucks & Wheel size ? 8’5 – 149 – 56

What is your normal skate terrain ? Everything! But I love small tights transitions and wallrides.

Why do you skateboarding in the first place ? Because it’s fun.

Tell us how a great day is looking for you One of these long summer days when there’s barely any night at all.

Any hobbys besides skateboarding ? Photography, zine-making, singing in my band, looking for new bands on the internet, traveling, collecting papers.

Favorite skateboarders at the moment ? My friends Pauliana Laffabrier @l_pauliana, Chloé Bernard @chloyeahbernard_suzzies, Sammy Anderson @just.slam and Arianna Spencer that I saw skating in Seattle!

What is the future of skateboarding ? How do you see it ? More people and hopefully more diversity!

How do you see your own skateboarding future ? I want to skate unseen spots, show more of my skate photographs and push until I can’t anymore

How are you doing at the moment ? Are you fit for fight ? I’m pretty good, just the usual scratches and bruises!

Have you been on any mission(S) lately, you wanna tell about about ? I went on a trip to North America for two weeks in May! I didn’t really have any plans when I went there except skating at the Wheels Of Fortune in Seattle but I ended up meeting up with the Brits (Helena Long and Amy Ram), we went to Portland and skated some backyard bowl and pool and of course Burnside; I also got to spend a week in Vancouver, super rad skate culture out there and the city is beautiful. I skated every single day for two weeks, went to female fronted punk shows, hung out in bookstores, hung out with fine people. Pretty much the dream trip! I think it actually reconciled me with skateboarding: I have been having a hard time having fun skating for over a year and now I’m finally back on board!

Who do you normally skate with ? Sammy Anderson, Elin Härnqvist, Alexandra Bergman, Emil Gothberg, Cécilia Croissant, Nicoline Egeberg and anyone that’s passing by or down for a skate!

How does your weekends normally look like ? Huge homemade vegan breakfast, skating, creating, sorting through my million papers and photos, writing, going to punk shows, hanging out with my cat.

Are you coming to CPH OPEN this summer ? I’ll be around for sure!

What is your plan this summer, please let us know a few things your gonna do ? I’m going to travel back and forth to France, I want to go film some things in London to finish a part, explore a bit more of Sweden, maybe go to Barcelona but mostly hang out between Copenhagen and Malmö, it’s the best time of the year! I also want to start working on a photobook with the photos I took in North America and finish Xem Skaters #3.
