Carhartt WIP Spring Summer 2019 lookbook released
The Carhartt Work In Progress Spring/Summer 2019 collection deftly blends classic, work-inspired silhouettes with modern-day, utilitarian garments, communicating a contemporary vision that builds upon the brand’s own legacy.
Iconic pieces, such as the Car-Lux Jacket and Chore Coat, have been exe- cuted in striking hues of turquoise and red, while this season also sees the introduction of our new 12oz organic cotton canvas, and the re-release of garments, like our Detroit Jacket, in their OG t – a little roomier and more boxy.
In womenswear, the S/S2019 collection takes many of these canvas styles and applies a unique, paint-splatter effect.
From hiking to urban exploration, this season also takes inspiration from garments geared for functionality. Items such as multi-pocket jackets and shing vests are accented by re ective 3M Carhartt WIP labels, D-rings, and concealed zips.
Additionally, the primary colors and bold branding of 90s sportswear informs a facet of S/S2019, resulting in a melange of subcultural reference points. Rugby Shirts are emblazoned with Carhartt WIP patch detailing – a style which is both a nod to its namesake sport and the football terraces of the UK – and tracksuits appear with graphic elements that draw from the brand’s iconography.
For when spring melts into summer, there’s seasonal stripes in a punchy palette, and pops of colour with the introduction of overdyed denim across both men’s and women’s.
