In September 2014, Gosha Rubchinskiy released Crimea/Kids, an 80-page book which captured the spirit of the region’s youth culture, filled with skateboarding, smoking and remnants of a bygone Soviet era. (Limited to only 300 copies, it has long been sold out.) For the release of the Carhartt WIP x PACCBET collaborative capsule collection, the Russian polymath once again travelled to the region, snapping his loyal band of followers in their new co-branded wares.

This 12 item collection sees Tolia Titaev and Gosha Rubchinskiy – the co-founders of PACCBET – rework a selection of iconic pieces. Inspired by the inimitable style of late ‘80s early ‘90s skateboarding, as well as the oversized, boxy fits of Carhartt WIP’s earliest designs, there’s a playful subversiveness to many of the pieces. The signature Carhartt WIP script font features, but spells out the name of the Moscow-based brand, and the typically austere Master Pant is spliced with an alternative colorway, creating a two-tone trouser. Elsewhere, the Detroit Jacket has been created in a washed denim and given new, bolder proportions, and the humble Pocket T-shirt appears with Carhartt WIP and PACCBET labeling.
