AZZURRO
Set against the backdrop of Gibellina Nuova, Azzurro presents an effortless blend of skateboarding, architecture and art. In 1968, the original Gibellina was destroyed by an earthquake, leading to a new town, designed by some of Italy’s most prominent artists and architects of the time. Chosen by Sicilian-born, Carhartt WIP skater Mauro Caruso as the perfect location for this short film, and lensed by filmmaker Ludo Azémar, skateboarding is both the focus of Azzurro and a method of exploring this unique town’s stark aesthetic. |
