How are you doing at the moment? Just fine. Chilling in my Ma’s place in Ireland, belly full of Sunday roast and a couple of creamy pints.

How is your body at the moment, (injuries, knees, back, and so)? Sciatica in my left hip, driving me slightly mental.

When did you start to skate and why? What tricked you into this?

I seen some guys on my street doing it and its just looked too fun. So I swamped a Fender-stratt copy guitar and 20 punts with a dude at the end of my street (called “Shadow) for a second hand Jeff Hedges Santa Cruz board, yellow rat bone wheels and a pre-grooved gulping/maroon indy combo. The guy gave out to me when I didn’t look after the bearings because his friend gave him them “from an airplane”. Sidetone, I later met Jeff Hedges at Vert Attack and he was really sound.

Do you think you made the right choice (instead of playing football FX?)?

Most definitely. Although I’m equally as terrible at skating as I was at football and G.A.A. (Irish football). I was always in goals as I was shit, and then in skateboarding I ended up filming a lot as I’m also shit, the goalie of skating! Wahay!

Please comment your feelings, memories (if you are that old)   & know how about Skateboarding in the

80s Knee boarding on a plastic “gooby” board into a crack in the path and ripping a perfect hitler-shaped scab above my lip.

90s Nerding out on everything, starting to go on little adventures into Dublin and beyond.

2000+ Owning way too many skate videos and going on lots of fun trips

2010+ Owning way too little skate videos and not going on as many trips as Malmö keeps getting new stuff

Do you feel skateboarding is in a good way?

If I just go skate with friends then its A.O.K. Everything else doesn’t really matter after that.

Where do you stand & please comment with skateboarding in the Olympics?

I stand on the podium, bringing another gold back to Bray.

Where do you stand in terms of politics?

Upside-down

When I chill, I chill with,

My willy

I’m have been on a mission lately in (with)

Denis Lynn, never a dull moment with the self proclaimed clown baby.

Dream session would be,

Any mates up for banter. A bunch of old and new friends came to Malmö for a few days in the summer and that was pretty perfect, bunch of ballroots just rolling around having a giraffe playing tippy mickeys.

Lately I have been working on,

Anything that’s fun or that I can learn something new from. Most recently a fun project with Denis Lynn that should be done next year. A skate animation thing I’ve been working on for over a year. A video with Sarah Meurle where we’ve been shooting at dawn for the special light and empty streets (and tired eyes). A few videos for various kommuns around Sweden for the Svergie Skate Förbund. A new documentary project back here in Ireland. I’ve some other stuff too, I work with some nice dudes in Mellow CPH during the winter if I can, nice to try non-skate work during the winter to get a balance going. Also got a side project with Mike O Shea that we’re figuring out.

When I was little I would like to,

Be a wrestler. (specifically the Ultimate Warrior)

When I’m home I like to,

Eat, watch movies, podcasts.

I normally call my homies for,

Spiritual guidance

Your homies are,

All legends.

I enjoy going to,

The pool hall

When was the last time you really won big time?

Losing people sucks

Birra chocolate, tin o snus, a few bob and the Pint of Harp.

Best life advice I can give is,

If you fold up the zip on a Y.K.K zipper it stops it zipping down.

Are you good with money (do you plan, safe it, cash in or blow it)?

I try to plan it but the best laid plans of mice and men..

Best travel memory you want to share?

Lots, but the disastrous ones are usually the funniest. I was trying to screen a video in Postojna, Slovenia while there with Craig “Questions” Scott. The locals were pulling out all the stops and even brought a generator to the spot. Just as we had an image onscreen Craig said “What would happen if I did THIS!” and he shut down the whole rig. Everyone was really pissed off at him, but instead of repenting he went around the corner to the buffet that had been laid out and pissed all over it. Then he tried to sleep on the mini ramp flat bottom but everyone kept dropping in on him. Wonder why?

When I do not skateboard I,

Still sweat a lot. Play pingis. Go walkies. Check out galleries. Loose at Fifa to Josh (16:9). Bike Duel with The Egg. Think. Read. Draw. Dance. Ludo.

My fitness program is,

Go skating

Random story’s you want to share?

Most of them are from shitty jobs I’ve had, which are usually the most fun. I worked in an old man’s shoe shop for a while and one of the old dudes there, Pat, (a man who had never tried pasta apparently) he used to say the worst stuff to customers it was like only I could here him. “Now sir… prrrrick!” A nun was once asking too many questions about show laces so he promptly yelled “fuck her out!” He was an easy man to wind up too, all you had to do was asking him if he liked ‘bread and butter pudding’ and he’d steam up and tell you it was “A fuckin poor man’s desert!” Its funny seeing people who just become intwined in an institution and can’t really function or see beyond it.

I started working at an Off License (systemet) when I was 16 – the older dudes sent me on chip runs and one time they put in a pretty sizeable order and even told me to treat myself (should have seen the red flag there). They were pissing themselves when I came back with full hands as they’d given me a counterfeit fifty. Ignorance is bliss!

Thanks to

Todd
